Dragon’s Breath by @luxnaillacquer

I just had to write about this one today. While waiting for some specific glitters to arrive for my new collection I’ve been mixing with a few other special bits and pieces.

Then this happened.

Dragon’s Breath – textured on its lonesome but looks pretty spectacular with a top coat. It has a color shift from mauve to green and shines pearlescent purples in different lights.

Almost hard to believe this is the same colour!

It has tiny flecks of purple glitter and a spattering of holo silver hexes throughout.

In these photos it is pictured without a top coat but seche vite it and ohmygosh!

Sadly I’m back at work in 2 days and although I had grand plans of posting every couple of days that didn’t quite happen – and now it is even less likely! I’ll try not to be a total slacker but I’m entering a different role and might need some adjustment time 🙂

Fluoro Fun! Review: Colour by TBN

Oh my gosh look at the colour!
Our work Melbourne Cup ‘do’ has the theme ‘Colour’ this year and I had skipped off to the chemist to see if I could get a vibrant shade of orange to go with the pigments I’d picked out for a naily rainbow. This particular chemist doesn’t see a lot of traffic (I live here….)

Ma home

…so the choices were a few dull colours that had either seperated or congealed in their bottles in a clearance bin.

I was about to leave when I noticed a new gift pack stand. With bath bombs and soaps and lip gloss…..and polish!!!

Frozen Manicure

What to do when the heat comes?

Frozen inspired manicure!!! Actually this came about for a number of reasons. One being my adorable 3 year old who decided I needed to use ‘all the blue’ (or ‘all the azul’ as she actually said #Spanglish). The other is that the talented @with2L has done some pretty funky stamping and smooshing – she was really the one that made me consider layering stamps.

Finally with the colour choice and our spring heating up I decided to give a final nod to winter and Frozen-up my nails.

Plus I teach 14 girls who can screech out ‘let it go’ on cue…

So I started with a white gel base using Gellare Hybrid products then 3 coats of Sinful Colors – Cinderella. It is such a pretty sparkly blue, but so sheer! I sealed with Gellare Hybrid top coat – I find it easier to remove stamping stuff ups this way. Then stamped with MUD – Blue Moon, Ulta3 – Block it Out, Mode – Warrior, Sinful Colors – Snow Me White. Finally I frosted it up with Mode – Crystal Ball.

Accents were done with blue striping tape from eBay and rhinestones from local craft shop.

@lyzcosmetics

I recently discovered Lyz Cosmetics on Instagram (@lyzcosmetics). I think it came from stumbling over an awesome purple swatch specifically for Halloween. The shade was ‘Mistress of the Dark’ I believe.

Anyway I had a look at her Etsy store, cried that the awesome purple was sold out, drooled over a few other shades, added them to my cart and then chickened out. Continue reading

Watermarble the First

watermarble01 Throwback post… I attempted a watermarble after experimenting on my thumb. My thumb was fantastic.

Everything else went pearshaped after that.

I wasn’t too displeased at the end result seen here. Featuring Sinful Colors – Snow Me White, Black on Black and Cinderella

I have nubs

Teeny tiny little nails. The result of decades of biting (I was 25 when I first really stopped biting my nails), various vitamin deficiencies and sucky genes.

I’ve always loved polish however. Oh my gosh. Polish. So many sweet sweet glorious colours.

If only I had nails.

Recently I’ve discovered people rock their nubs. So I’ve been determined to up my own nubiness and join the frenzy. Continue reading
